You are here Home  > Colleges and Universities >  Red Lady of Huntingdon College

The ghost of a lonely girl, an outcast from all her peers who committed suicide is said to wander the dorms of Huntingdon College. It is also said that every year, on the night of her suicide (no exact date on offer, of course) red light emanates from the room in which she died.

    1. My daughter has been a student there for the past 2 years. SEVERAL ghosts on that campus. The Red Lady’s room is in a former dorm now under renovation – but THAT room is sealed – not used. There is also a ghost in 2 other dorm rooms, the music hall and on the green.

    2. I’m literally laughing at this video. I just graduated from Huntingdon and have been up those exact stairs too many times to count, as I am a member of a sorority and that’s where the sorority chapter rooms are. Also, I hope whoever reads this realizes that the actual incident with Martha happened in Tuskegee when the campus was there as the Women’s College of Alabama, before it moved to Montgomery and became Huntingdon. Also, that room is not “sealed” because if the room in which this happened was actually there it would be the Phi Mu chapter room.

      • There was a “red lady” incident when the school was located in Tuskegee, but there was another in Pratt Hall in Montgomery in the 1920s. Google “Phantom Flapper Pratt Hall” and you can read about how the two hauntings are related.

    3. My mom actually went to Huntingdon College whenever this mysterious story happened. I’m not lying becuase my mom just told me the other day that she lived in the dorm right under the red lady and every night, my mom and her roommate would hear furniture being moved around since they closed off the fourth floor and made it a storage space becuase of the red lady’s suicide. And when she tried to record the sounds, it stopped.
