  1. I stayed at the hotel on April 5, 2014 in room 336.
I awoke at approximately 4am to what felt like someone sitting in the left bottom corner or my bed. The pressure then began to feel as if someone was crawling across the bed and over me. I thought I was going nuts so I grasped at where I felt the pressure over me and when I touched it..the pressure disappeared. But I did touch it, I may have been dreaming, but if I was … It was the most vivid realistic dream I ever had and at the end of the dream I was wide awake..and holding onto air. Totally creepy, but I would go back!!

    • Ok so we were just there…August 18th to 21st 2019. We stayed in Room 338….the Anderson House…the oldest part of the hotel I believe. The 1st night we were there…we walked around investjgsting….ate….had a few cocktails & went to bed. In the midd,e of the nigbt…..I was half awake & half asleep….a line of folks….one at a time….began to file through our room. They seemed to be coming from beside the back left corner of the bed…stand & look at me…& then leave through the door….of course it was closed. It went on for a long time…10 to 12 people. Some folks looked quite normal in a dead mind of wab but others looked pretty beat up. I woke my husband to ask why he wasn’t doing anything & he had no idea what I was talking about. I wasn’t really too terribly afraid & it didn’t happen again. We will go back….not sure to that room.

  2. Stayed here in Nov. 2013 in room 261. My wife and I were getting ready by the bed. The door latch moved and click the door opened and shut. I quickly went to door saying hello. I opened the door immediately. Looked down the hallway both ways and nothing. No one around. I even walked up and down looking for someone and nothing.

  3. about 8 yrs ago, just after the renovation, my
Husband & I went there for dinner and it was
Not yet busy. I went to the ladies room off in
A remote wing of the resort and there was no one around. I was alone in the ladies room and sitting on the toilet when all of a sudden the latch on the stall clicked and turned and the stall door opened and no one was there. Very spine tingling and creepy! I got out of there as fast as I could!

    • You are referring to the 1796/Frontier Tavern dining room restrooms. That part was built in 1806. When I worked there as a lobby attendant, I had to clean them before opening. I never saw anything, but I heard something pound and then scratch (very loud) almost every time I cleaned the men’s room. I also heard things in the women’s room, but not often. The whole hotel is haunted, and just about everyone who works the night shift has seen or heard something. (We just don’t talk about it). On a lighter note, they don’t seem to be malevolent.

  4. Stayed in room 313 in October 2015. Enjoyed our stay. Very relaxed, soothing experience and I would stay here again. The day we were leaving a message appearred on the steamed mirror in the bathroom. “Pay the ghost” was written twice. It was very high on the mirror and would have required someone to stand on a chair to write it. I took other showers before that day and never saw the writing in the mirror.

  5. I stayed at the hotel with two friends for a girls weekend getaway in May 2015. On the night we arrived we were checking out the hotel and came upon a restroom in a remote corner of the hotel on the second floor. The lights were flickering in the room and we looked around and saw nobody else was in there. We stood in front of a large mirror and were joking and laughing and decided to take a selfie. After that we turned to walk out and then it happened. We heard a woman’s voice laugh very loudly as we were laughing. It was very loud and it sounded as if she was standing right next to us. It was extremely creepy and scared us! We ran out! There was definitely a ghostly vibe in the hotel in some areas more than others. We generally had a good time there but the bathroom experience did startle us. Here’s the photo we took. We heard the laugh right after.

  6. Stayed in room 153, which is in the new section of the hotel. We have stayed here many times before without incident. At 245 AM I was awakened by a creaking noise. To the right of the bed was the solid but amorphic shape of a small woman, about 3.5 to 4 feet tall. She was standing in 3/4 profile to me and appeared to be struggling to put on a slip or some other type of thin garment with thin straps over head. She was solid, I could not see the wall behind her, but she was featureless. Her body reached to the floor but was less well defined the closer it got to the floor. The room was very dark but the figure was creamy white with a dull glow, especially around the edges. I knew I was in a hotel room with only my husband and tried to figure out if I was misinterpreting a chair or other object in the room. But this figure was moving its upper limbs, it wasn’t still. I became alarmed and called my husband’s name. The figure did not respond. I called again and my husband, who was on my left, awoke and turned to me. The figure never acknowledged me. She receded toward the wall away from the bed and, as she did, I could see more of the wall behind her. After a few seconds she was gone completely. I never felt threatened or that the figure wished to interact with me. My husband saw and felt nothing.

  7. We stayed there about two years ago during a heavy snow storm. Just before I went to sleep, a vibration went through the bed almost like a small earthquake. My boyfriend was asleep beside me and it woke him up. We were out at the fire pit another time we stayed there and there was a couple who we met, who were very shaken up by seeing a ghostly figure in their room. They were trying to decide to stay or leave.

  8. Mike …July 29th 2016
My wife and I were walking the grounds late at night snapping pictures. Most of the pictures at night never look the way they truly are. That said we walked up the steps on the bridge heading that connects with the Gazeebo. We turned around and snapped a picture of the hotel.Started to head back through the lobby and ran into the “Ghost Tour”..It finally hit the place could be haunted. We both proceeded up to our room and sat on the rocking chairs to have a night cap. I decided to investigate the haunting s at Bedford Springs and learned that ghosts try to slip into your pictures with out you knowing . Sure enough ..I viewed my picture and there was little girl with pig tails in a ghostly silhouette looking out of the 2nd floor window third from the left. I have the picture in my phone if anybody would like me to send to them . It was very creepy and real.

  10. I stayed in room 246 at around 3am the bathroom door slammed shut and then I heard running footsteps on the floor. I also heard a voice that I couldn’t understand what it said but it sounded male. I liked the place because it had a lot of ghostly energy.

  11. Hi,
I am from johnstown Pa.originally, and we were always told a little girl drowned in the pool.if you are in the pool area all by yourself, you can hear splashing and see little wet footprints by the pool. But that was before all the remodeling….so check it out. Happy ghost hunting.

  12. I stayed there many years ago with my family and I had no prior knowledge of the paranormal activity surrounding the hotel. However, I will never forget the pool. Standing in the dimly-lit, two-level pool room sent a chill down my spine and I couldn’t stop thinking that I was being watched from the second level.

  13. I was laying across the bed sideways in room #219 in the old section, looking at my phone and felt a cat “kneading” the bed next to me. It took a couple minutes of this before I realized this isn’t home and there’s no cats here. It was sooo real. Eerie.

  14. I am here now (Room 371) My wife and I knew nothing about the supposed haunting prior to our stay. I felt a heavy, uneasy feeling or presence all night. I was not going to mention this to my wife and had planned to conduct some internet research while she was at the spa. She woke up in the morning and asked me if I thought this hotel was haunted. She told me she had experienced the same sensations all night. After some research we discovered the haunting is well documented…Great!!…Little freaked out…Trying to decide if we are staying again tonight or departing early.

  15. After a recent stay I remembered an incident 5 to 6 years ago. This might have been our first resort overnight when we were walking down the main hallway we saw. a magnificent couple. They were in formal dress, the man in a suit and the woman in a elegant dresss. They were definitely in their 80’s, at least. They walked so slowly and stately with loving locked arms they went down the grand hall.I remember his gray hair, they did not speak, only looked forward. They were lovely. This really piqued my interest, however I did not visit this event in my thoughts until my recent visit. They were sooo out of era?! This possibly was prom night for the local Bedford High School. Does anyone have any information on this couple? Very interesting to think did they step out of time gone by? I do not know. Are there any thought on this occasion?

  16. We stayed in Dec 2019 in the Andersen area, possibly room 339. The lights flickered often and one light stopped working. Then the shower head wouldn’t turn off despite my fiancé who is a big strong guy swearing that he had turned it off all the way. Later we learned from the staff about the hauntings. We have a picture of my fiancé with an unexplained shadow behind him in the room. Definitely ghostly vibes.

    • John Sabol and I run the Haunted History Tours at the Bedford Springs Resort. Currently, I have been furloughed and the tours have momentarily ceased until further notice. John Sabol has written books about the hauntings at the Bedford Springs, sold on Amazon and other online bookstores, if you are interested. I am taking notes of these stories and we may use them for future tours but we omit names. Some of these stories recounted on this page we hear over and over.

      • Hi I was just at Bedford Springs resort last week for one night. Felt the place was haunted as soon as I walked in. This was my first time there and no nothing about the history of the resort. When I came home and looked at the pictures I took, I noticed two ghost that showed up in two different pictures. Would you like to view the pictures. Thank you Jodi

  17. I was just chilling in my room,
Room #150 and my Dad was locked out, so he was pounding on the door and yelling, but I did not hear him. My mom heard him from the room next door and let him in to her room. Earlier in the day was sister got locked out without a key and lightly knocked on the door and I heard her, but how could both my brother and I who were both in the room reading not hear my dad kicking and yelling at the door?!! Really weird. This place also gives me the chills, especially the pool area and the and randomly in the hallways. It’s not a bad hotel, it’s just creepy.
