  1. Myself and threw friends took a Ouija board out there around 3 am one night almost two years ago. As soon as we tried to contact spirits, there was a deep, horrific howl and screeching coming from the woods. This noise was consistent the entire time we played. It was definetely something haunted! Anyhow, we tried to contact spirits for a good 40 minutes. Having researched the place before we went there, we had the idea that we would contact “Tillie” and we searches for her light, though, we never did see it. So about 20 minutes into playing it got terribly cold and much windier out there, and we weren’t connecting with anyone. A friend informed me that if any of us were skeptical, then we wouldn’t be able to make contact. As hard as I tried, I couldn’t shake the doubt. Plus my friend was taunting the spirits, cursing at them and calling them. That made me even more scared. I wasnt interested in pissing spirits off! But i was cold and spooked out. I Bowed out. I returned to the car while my friends continued on calling spirits. About 10 minutes later they all came running to the car, claiming that they had gotten two responses, that yes, they had contacted someone.. And after they asked “do you want us to leave”, they eye along with their hands still lightly attached, flew to “goodbye” and they jetted! The look of fear on their faces tells me, that something is definitely out there.

    • Let me say that i grew up in Cedar Rapids, Ia right down the street from Oak Hill Cemetery on Camburn Ct. As kids, and into our teens we would always hang out in this cemetery and we have experienced some very weird unexplainable things. So i have always, and still do think that this cemetery is haunted. My whole family has always experienced some unexplainable things that has happened in our home as well. We always thought that our house was haunted as well. It is a house there on Camburn Ct. I will not give the house number out so the people that do live there now don’t get people coming a calling.

      • So Mr. Bell my family last named Beets use to live in a house let’s say with in or around the 812 home which has been there 1905ish, I had a friend who lived in this home after my Beets family relatives lived there and she said that this home was being also occupied by a older woman and a child who in the bathroom at night from the street view can see her holding a knife to said child’s neck region, have you experienced anything sinister like this or similar. I know that the Oakhill Cemetery on 15thband Mt. Vernon Road is let’s say a frugal part in entities and Tillie doing her thang, but I’m interested in your story and please share with me.

    • If Tillie is just a story than tell me why when i was 6 years old I lived in the big house on the corner of 19th and mountvernon and a couple of night my mom would ask what we were doing playing next to the closet and wed say we were playing with tillie? If tillie is a myth how are a couple of little kids going to come up with that name thats not just a coincidence tillie is real and she doesnt like babies.

    • Tillie is very real and if you can see or hear that side. I lived 1206 6th ave 4 blocks from oak hill. Spent almost everyday playing and running among the cemetery. My grandmother bought a piece of property that sits on the cemetery to this day and is very very haunted. My grandmother is 74 now. She said tillie was raised by her single father it’s said that he beat tillie for her mothers leaving them. Tillie died of neglect and starvation. Tillie haunts more then just cemetery’s. She haunt people she know she can make a connection with. My grandmother said she was calling her son down for dinner my uncle who was 3 or 4 at the time and she said she heard him talking to someone. She said she faintly heard a mans voice. But didn’t think nothing of it. She said when Tillie was in grade school at grant wood it was said that Tillie a father killed his wife and hid her body in the basement and she lingering to find her mother. It’s a sad sad but true story. Tillie is not buried in that cemetery at all either.

  2. Friends and I are starting a new paranormal research group, we will be investigating this along with others in the Linn county area soon
