The 1898 edifice that houses the historic museum was constructed immediately after a tornado flattened the original township. Known as the “Mascho Building’, the place is rumoured to have a ghost or two. The owner got more than he bargained for after opening a haunted house attraction, with several actors reporting that they themselves were scared by the manifestation of paranormal activity on the premises. Phenomena experienced here includes ghostly laughter, apparitions, and the rearrangement of objects by unseen hands.

  1. Coming down the stairs, my husband and I both smelled an old fashioned smelly perfume. There was no one else around and nothing that would put off that overwhelming of a scent.

  2. I have been a volunteer at this Museum for many years. When my daughter and her friends decided to do a haunted house for Halloween there were many unexplained happenings.
I have had several well known ghost hunters in and seen some very interesting things over the years. you can hear footsteps, furniture moving around, loud noises. We have sound proof of soldiers in the buildings, a woman who was pregnant and hit by the stage coach. Spirits attach themselves to personal items. Many of our customers tell us things they feel and hear.
