Mills House

Mysterious fires broke out at the Mills House in January 2014, destroying it. The place was a historic home to bachelor farmer Buster Mills, the last of the Mills family who lived there; he died after a stroke in 1989. Locals remember Buster talking about “haints” in the home’s front room. The main part of the house was believed to have been built around 1790, Buster would be the last one to live in the old house. The house was abandoned and rumored to be haunted. Several locals have seen an apparition of a woman in an old-fashioned nightgown and cold spots. Some say the ghost started the fire; other reports say it was set accidentally by folks who were exploring.
