Marlboro Psychiatric Hospital opened in early 1931 and operated for many years, but not without problems. Rampant deaths at the hospital were frequently being investigated. An adjacent cemetery holds nearly 1,000 graves. Over 130 patients became ill from food poisoning in the 1970s, four of whom died. The hospital was closed in 1998 because of patient abuse and rampant spending practices. The building was then slated to be used for military training with explosives. Legends abounded about an abandoned slaughterhouse on the property and a resident “murderous farmer” who would lure victims and kill them. Witnesses claimed to see shadow people in the area until the slaughterhouse was torn down. Trespassing was such a problem that in 2013, the hospital was torn down as well.

They.didnt tear it down its still.there . If you go on the back roads youll see it . And you can.get in through there without police knowing cause the police are in the front they are too scared to go.all.the way in . Some have heard screams.. as a.child i lived across the street was always very creepy and.tht was before it was closed down

I Went to check out Marlboro State Hospital
but it was a wasted trip unable to get to it .Why because it was block by a gate stating do not enter and then there was a car parked right in front of it. That being said I can’t vote on whether it’s haunted or not.
Do u know how to get to the back road
My son and I took a ride there about a year ago. Yes you can still see the buildings. About 20 years ago, I was a First Aider and had to help transport a patient there. When you walked into the building, you just got this eerie feeling…
It’s torn down
I drive by there all the time there is always a guard at the gates to let construction people in looks creepy and the property is huge and all fenced in.
In high school we took a field trip to the hospital for psychology class. Definitely creepy
