Featured on an episode of TV’s Ghost Hunters, the Magnolia Plantation is rumored to be haunted. The plantation has been owned by the same family since 1680; the investigation turned up unexplained music, a young girl’s voice, a cough, and a woman’s voice that asked “What are you doing?”

  1. My husband and I were sitting on the porch bench at Magnolia Gardens and I had an experience. I felt three pats on my shoulder, as if someone was there. I looked around and there was nobody close to me. After a few minutes, it happened again. It was a very affectionate pat, like a grandma would do. My husband wondered what I was looking behind me for. Nobody was there. This has made a believer in me that there are unseen spirits. I thought I would share this with you. .

  2. Our family visited here often. We have a picture of our boys playing on a joggling board and a dark form is watching them. It is so clear. Yet when we took it to Plantation to show them , they looked at it and claimed they had mo hauntings there. The picture was taken in the late ’80s and we showed them the picture abt 12 yrs ago.

  3. I’m not a huge believer in ghosts, but I believe I had an encounter here. When I returned to the hotel after the tour, I had 5 scratch marks on my hand. Some people may say it looks like a cat scratched me, but at no point did I see any cats on the property, and I would have felt it seeing I have grown up around cats my entire life. I also had the feeling that the ground was constantly moving, yet I would be standing completely still.
