The former Kemper Military School, now State Fair Community College, had a ghost of a female cadet who was killed along the track. Her apparition has been seen jogging around the track; it disappears when it gets to the spot where she was killed. The A, C and D Barracks also were known to be haunted. In A Barracks, a Civil War soldier has shown up in a doorway. Footsteps and shadows have been seen as well. in C Barracks, unexplained footsteps have been heard. And in D Barracks, a ghostly form has been noticed standing in the window of a closed floor.
