Jack Cole Road

You are here Home  > Miscellaneous >  Jack Cole Road

Jack Cole Road is an unpaved road off of Highway 7 in Blount County. It is surrounded by dense woods and wilderness. Since 1890, there have been 68 deaths on Jack Cole Road. 60 of these were due to an outbreak of Cholera in 1900, and others were caused by strange events. In the 1960s a photographer and resident of Jack Cole Road hung himself after claiming to have seen “strange” or “abnormal” things happening in his house. A elderly woman was found dead and mummified in her house, which was later burned down by young residents. A local farmer was murdered in his house, which is a wooden cabin still on Jack Cole Road, and a local African American man was sentenced for it. It was a strange trial because the man claimed profusely that he was innocent throughout and even afterwards. He never admitted to being guilty. These are only a few of the unusual deaths known to have happened on Jack Cole Road. People still claim to see things like lights in the woods, hear strange sounds, see ghostly figures walking along the road, and a strange deformed “Bigfoot” animal that looks like a wolf and a man. Not much is known about Jack Cole Road, but there is still much to investigate.

  1. I live on Jack Cole Road, I can tell you true stories about this place, but I can honestly say I have never seen a bigfoot looking creature, nor has anyone else.

  2. We went to Jack Cole Road and it is blocked off at both ends and felt as though we were being watched and we needed to leave. Both sides are blocked by farm style gates and says no trespassing. What happened?

  3. My friends and I went there one night, my radio went static when we got off i65, so I had it turned down on the way to the road. Once we arrived, my radio static cleared and Highway to Hell by ACDC started playing. Probably a coincidence, but it still scared the hell out of all of us.

Another unsolved mystery happened their last year as well when a women went missing after a house fire, no human remains were found.
