    1. We stayed in rm 18 last night (Mar 26 2016). The Irma is a great old hotel and we were excited to stay here. We heard rumors of the spirits but I have heard that at other so called haunted places we have stayed at. I believe the rumors could be true here. All night long we heard knocking noises and footsteps in the hallway on the old creaky floor. It was hard for me to sleep. At one point I heard a sort of scratching on the wall behind my bed. Not menacing but eery nonetheless. There were several light knocks on our door. Once again nothing menacing. It lasted all night until morning. We never felt threatened or that the spirits did not want us here. Still strange. I used to be skeptical. ..now I’m not so sure. I chalked the first hour or so down to old buildings settling and old wood making noise. Buy in the end the noises were all around the room. Not at once. But every few minutes, different wall, different window. Hard to sleep.
