Indian Spring Cemetery

You are here Home  > Cemeteries >  Indian Spring Cemetery

This is one of the oldest cemeteries in the area – there’s even a former Governor of Florida buried here, named Albert Gilchrist (d. 1926). Lots of activity is reported, including ghost lights, disembodied noises that sound like screaming and moaning, and shadow figures.

    1. Myself, husband and numerous friends have witnessed some creepy stuff at this cemetery. We’ve all seen the lights and heard voices while investigating. It was once a free burial ground and is believed to have unmarked and mass graves. Nobody knows how many people are actually buried there. The cemetery received quite a bit of damage when Hurricane Charlie hit in 2004. A portion of the cemetery where children are buried has the most damage. A lot of the graves are missing name plates which is quite saddening. You’ll definitely sense a strange, uneasy and even sad vibe upon entering Indian Springs. It’s closed from dusk til dawn but if you’re careful, you may be able to check it out after dark.

      • Corena is there anyway I could Possibly meet up with you and your husband to do an investigation? I am from Sarasota Florida and live to investigate places like this.

    2. ive been there several times, with my crew.were working on marshall john bowmans case which weve had success with.we have seen shadow figures got lots of orb pics.

    3. My friends and I have pics from our visit there, I have many relatives buried there, my friend has the most interesting pics from the many places we have been,I kept feeling like we were being watched, hard feeling to shake, I seem to have always been visited by those that have past, and I can feel if they are bad or good, I get very dark feelings at this place and the old one in Alva and Denaud,my one friend got voice recordings from our visit to the one in Lehigh it is nothing to play with, you have to ask for Gods protection

    4. You don’t need permission to enter…there are numerous pokestops located within the cemetery grounds…if anyone were to hassle you, you could totally just claim to be playing pokemon go…but honestly, no one is going to even notice you’re there…I’ve spent hours there investigating and catching pokemon at the same time and never encountered any other humans…did however experiance the otherworldly wails and cries and felt the chill…it’s a beautiful and interesting experiance and I do recommend visiting…it’s sad that there’s a big ugly wal Mart right next to it though

    5. I was here Saturday night 6/16/2018. My best friend and I were doing a investigation, I agree with the uneasy feeling because I def. felt it when I got out of the car. its quite and a nice place to visit. we did get some creepy voices on camera ( a whisper saying “get out”, we heard a woman weeping saying ” I wont let her die” we saw a little girl running around some stones and even caught her on camera. I will be going back for further investigating.

    6. Very peaceful place. I visit often as my friend rests here. I have seen him a few times & spoke out to him. There is always a breeze during the day when I have visited. I enjoy going when all of the solar lights on some of the graves began to lite up. There are many of them, but I’ve noticed many floating lights. I was not aware that this is a haunted place until today.
