Hannan Playhouse

The historic playhouse is rumoured to be haunted by up to four spirits. On the day of the grand reopening of the theatre, a member of the theatre company found a set of footprints in a layer of dust several inches thick on the main stage, despite the fact that the building had been kept locked for several years prior to that. Ever since, the paranormal activity has been off the charts, with employees, actors and visitors reporting the apparition of a laughing caretaker, a ghostly female costume designer who appears in the dressing rooms, a black cat that crosses the stage during productions and a resident spook known affectionately as ‘Oscar’.

When I went here for a play rehearsal my brother came and i went to show him around and I went upstairs to show the costumes and there was a man standing by the racks of dress up items

  2. I am an actor at this playhouse. This is my second play here. Tonight was the first time anything notable happened. When I walked in I felt a strong energy in the lobby restroom (this ocorrs often). Then, about half way through rehearsal, mid scene, another actor say an object squared down on a rafter above the stage. A few seconds later, all actors on stage right noteced that it became very cold. After this, one showdow was seen by the dressing rooms, and two people had been touched. After rehearsal, I went upstairs alone. The engergy was incredibly heavy. As we walked out of the building, the house lights turned on after the lights person had already left. This is the first set of events I have seen here after two plays.

  3. Love the Dead Paranormal has investigated The Hannan two times for several hours. We have a clear EVP of a voice saying “Chester”, video evidence of orbs, and our EMF detector was peaking in the dressing room and in the seats in the stage area.

  4. I did a show there about two years ago. We would get there at 4:30 pm, do makeup and costumes, perform, end show, and then help clean up. by the time we were done with everything it would be around 10 pm. All of us felt a weird presence in the dressing rooms. things would fall over or move out of nowhere. Also when we were going over our first dance for the show someone was clearly sitting in the audience. you couldnt see any of the features only an outline of someone. While we were there on stage, the figure got up and started moving out of the seating area. At the time our dance instructor was with us. She noticed and asked if we had seen it. we were all shaking.

  5. I live in Raymond I can say there are many sounds that come from there when no one is in it most come from the dressing room I’ve heard voices and things fall when I’m near it . Me and my friends once went into it and we saw something in the corner we went up to it and it ran away freaked out me and my friends ran out we heard footsteps behind us we slammed the door and we haven’t gone near it since.
