Grady House Bed and Breakfast

An apparition of a lady in an old-fashioned nightgown has been seen, bringing with her the scent of flowers, lilacs or orange blossoms. The Red Room is the spot where the ghost most often materializes. She also likes to move the chess pieces on a board set up in the hallway. The ghost moves them to a certain position, with one piece lying atop another. Perhaps she is trying to convey a message?

  1. I stayed in the yellow room, the only room downstairs. This was in 2004. Many things happened that night. I was in the tiny bathroom washing my make up off getting ready to take a shower at about 10pm because we arrived pretty late to check in at about 9pm. I took off my clothes and I just felt uncomfortable like someone was in the tiny bathroom with me and no one was there. I felt like I was being stared at. I turned the shower on while standing just outside the shower. It is a walk in shower with a tiled shower floor. I wasn’t looking forward to stepping in because I knew the tile would be cold. I very gently went to put my toes down onto the shower floor and the very instant my toes touched the tile the shower immediately completely shut off, like it had never been on. I had to have my boyfriend at the time come in and turn the shower knobs all the way off and then when he turned the water back on it worked fine. I had him sit on the toilet seat while I showered because I didn’t feel like I was being watched when he was in the bathroom with me. After we went to sleep he slept like a baby but I couldn’t sleep. I woke up every 15-30 min all night long because of some children playing in the hallway and especially on the stairs right next to our door. They were giggling, bouncing a ball, and stomping and running up and down the stairs. I couldn’t wait to get to the breakfast table the next morning so I could tell the parents of these children how well I DID NOT SLEEP. It turns out we were the last to go to bed, because we were the last to check in, and there wasn’t one single child staying at the b&b. I asked if they had plumbing problems and the lady that made breakfast said no. I asked if they were haunted & she said not that she knew of but that others have said yes but she wouldn’t give me a single example and didn’t seem to want to discuss it at ALL.

  2. I’ve never stayed at this place but I do live only 15 minutes away from this area. I’ve never felt comfortable just by even driving by this place. I always got the chills and goosebumps every time we would pass by this place. I would love to explore this place one day.
