Glenmore Mansion

Before the death of local historian Thomas Roach, he remarked that if a ghost was sighted at the mansion, it might just be of him. Ever since, visitors have noted a friendly presence and a misty apparition on the lower floor of the mansion. People have also reported sighting a woman in white looking out of the windows of the house, and seeing strange lights in the attic of the house after it has been locked up.

  1. I went here once on a tour and the “dollhouse” portion of the house as soon as I stepped foot in there I became uneasy and lightheaded. I used to get that way in my old house which was very haunted. So, that was enough for me to believe that there is something there.

  2. I had my wedding at Glenmore. I chose it because of the beauty and history. And yes, because I like others know a place of age certainly has a feel to it. Glenmore did not disappoint

  3. I do Paranormal research.I would like to get ahold of who runs the place to do a paranormal investigation.Does anyone know who I can contact .could you please email me

    • Rhoda, Hi I am Sherrie Hudson and have lived here in Jefferson City for 3 years. I have taken the tour and loved the place but couldn’t sense anything paranormal. However I would love to go at night and investigate without the crowd. A Civil War Battle was across the street along with the family cemetery that also has the graves of slaves and CW soldiers. Im posting the contact info. If you get the green light I would appreciate an invite. . I’ve been driving by there at night taking pics for the past year. Feel free to text also. Good luck!

  4. Investigated psychically and found it to be haunted (in our opinion). Experienced the woman mist/dress in the window among other things. We are yet to go in but hope to visit and enjoy the home soon. However, they do not seem open to paranormal investigations at this time.
