Empire Mine Road - Slaughterhouse

You are here Home  > Miscellaneous >  Empire Mine Road - Slaughterhouse

One of a series of “eerie” locations in and around Empire Mine Road. This “slaughterhouse”, as it is most commonly referred to by locals (actually it is a granary), is said to be haunted by the ghost of an old groundskeeper. Strange noises are heard, clanking noises most often, and visitors claim to feel as if they are being watched.

  1. I went to the slaughterhouse in Antioch Ca. The road it self “Empire Mine Rd.” Is closed and security cameras are set up including signs that people will be arrested on the spot. I went there when I was a teenager in 2004 and the road was not blocked. I did have an experience with my friends and I can tell you it is haunted.

  2. I went there yesterday night we seen weird writings on the floor like saints 666 gates of hell and my friend heard something and rN and left me I was sacred so I call my cousin and I was talking on the phone with him while running back to our car while I was running I kept looking back I heard noises and I looked on top of the hill I seen something wearing all white so I screamed and ran finally I made it to our car then we left I didn’t even be able to make it all the way to the slaughter we was like 10 min away but soon as we seen weird things on the floor and heard noise we ran but I would love to go back and go to slaughter house and if I do go back then I will take my gun cuz u never know what will happen there’s stories about 6 people getting murdered of there

    • Yes, you are legally allowed to hike there to, the gravestone maker, Ron, I don’t remember his last name said it will be closed over his dead body, he is still alive, and his son is saying when he dies then they can close it and so on.

  3. Me and 3 other friends took a ouija board up there, heard non existent chains and banging of metal before starting the session, spoke with a positive entity who claimed to be the groundskeeper. On the hike back, my friends jacket was ripped off of him at the same time as my other friend being tripped, while me and my girl felt negative energy throughout our mind and body

I’m here now at the gate. Dont be discouraged when the coordinates on here wont pull up. Simply find golf course rd and Mesa ridge road. Head north on Mesa ridge and it’s not very far down. You will find the locked gate and empire road street sign. Another thing no one mentions on here is that it’s right at a 2 mile hike lol. No big deal for me. But it’s late and I plan to be here from 1 am till 4 am. So I’m coming back tomorrow to do my alone time with this place.

  4. So I had an experience on the hike to the house not really at it yet but I was walking there with 5 of my buddies one we walked in a weird formation unintentionally this important for the story we had one guy a little further ahead three guys gathered in the middle talking and me behind them also keep in mind we were walking around there at 2 am. So at one point on the walk we were on this part with the creek next to us and a clearing on the other side not many places out of sight, we were walking along when we passed someone I was startled but not really scared I figured just tweaker or homeless person he had that look of drugged out and starving we all tried to say hi but he kinda of just ignored us didn’t even look at us when he passed. The second he passed me tho our guy in the front said “who are you all talking to?” I looked at him like he was an idiot turned around and said that guy and pointed towards him, only I didn’t point towards him, I didn’t see him at all he was gone, he just vanished nowhere to be seen along the trail no bushes or anywhere to hide really my confusion quickly changed to fear we got so spooked we all pulled out our knives and walked in a circle out backs to each other all the way back to our cars. Another creepy thing we found out after (atleast to me it is) the guy in front didn’t see any person the guys in the middle could see him but couldn’t see his face under his hood me I could see everything his whole face what are the odds I should’ve seen the least of him I had 4 people in my way and why did the guy in front just not see him at all? Personally I’m convinced this was a spirit of sorts my friends have mixed opinions but I can tell the one denying it are just doing it for the comfort

I went there last night with my girls and the place has been leveled. All that remains are the foundations and the wooden holding pens up the hill.

    • I’ve only been there once while it was still there. So sad to go there recently and find out that its gone. 🙁 Know of any other cool places to check out other than the byron hotel?
