  1. When I was 14 saw a child glide from on room to another, saw it again when I was 22 moving from the same rooms. this was my grandmothers house in Absecon, NJ. This past thanksgiving over at my cousins I was talking about it and she said she saw the same thing when she was around 13. I am now 70 and my cousin is 59. Neither one of us ever said anything before this. It has always bothered me because I always wonder who that child was. lorwin4@verizon.net

  3. For a month or so, I was staying in a first floor room at the Pitney house – this happened maybe 2012 or 2013. As I was moving some stuff in on the first day, I put one of those automatic air fresheners on a shelf on one side of the room. I turned to walk into the bathroom, and as I crossed the threshold I heard a loud crash behind me. I turned back to look and saw that it was as if the refresher had been thrown all the way across the room and shattered on the floor, nowhere near the shelf it had been sitting on. I knew I hadn’t set it on the edge of the shelf, and it seemed pretty stable. There was furniture between the shelf and the far side where it landed, so in my mind there was really no explanation for it having fallen and somehow landed all the way over there with a single crash.
After that and over the next several days, things would happen – like a toothbrush coming out of its cup holder and clattering into the sink the moment I walked out of the bathroom, or the window shades suddenly shooting up loudly and waking me up in the middle of the night. I was definitely convinced I could feel a presence in that room, but it didn’t feel threatening really.
Eventually, I ended up buying a candle from a metaphysical store, mostly to make myself feel better. I lit it, saying out loud that if there was anyone who I couldn’t see but was there, that I meant no harm and didn’t mind coexisting with them for a while. For the rest of the time that I stayed there, no more weird things happened or woke me up in the middle of the night. Maybe there is a rational explanation that caused objects to move in weird and impossible ways, but I personally believe I was being messed with by some sort of spirit.
