Cherokee Strip Museum

The upper two floors of the museum have been bricked up, and it is believed the ghostly activity has shifted to the lower floor of the museum building. Ghostly voices have been heard, cold spots are felt and a piano in the reception area plays by itself. Ghostly apparitions and strange lights have been seen in the museum, which previously served as an old hospital.

  1. When I was a kid me and my mom went in the 2nd floor surgery room and there is a closet next to it. A Ouija board laying on the floor and when I saw it I felt a cold jolt up my spine and I ran downstairs

  2. I was on the second floor alone and the phone at the nurse reception area rang, once. It does not have a dial, it did have a cord attached to it but the telephone switchboard is part of the museum so it is not clear what could have caused it to ring. I asked the people downstairs and they said they had not and could not ring it. It did unsettle me a bit and I left the top floor after that.

  3. I was investigating here with my crew and a doll in the nursing part of the hostpital moved. We heard footsteps in the 2nd floor hallway and no one was there. I took pics on my camera and were mysteriously deleted

  4. It’s been around six years since I last was in Alva’s Cherokee Strip Museum, but I recall my mother feeling as if she was being watched on the second floor’s surgery room, saying she felt as if she was trespassing in some place she shouldn’t. Once we wandered back downstairs I’d been flipping through some books and mused “It’d be neat if this place was really haunted.” At that the front door slammed open as if someone was marching angrily through. The wind that day was blowing in a direction that’d have kept the door closed! Although I’m quite the skeptic it’s still fascinating what happened!

  5. Hay may I say my dad Bob Beason was born here in the 2nd floor of the hospital wing.
He had thought that the old place was hunted as well. He has told me of a spot of blaod on the floor on the 1st floor that has been covored up many times before but it keeps being uncovered they cant keep it covered up because it keeps coming throw. don’t know how but it dose. Its around the stair way up to the 2nd floor if you look carefully you might just see it. Now my dad is gone to heaven but it still sticks with me dearly. I would like to go see if I could find it. I have also been told that kids at a young age was seen there for toely-ol. it was a foot disease. fore back in ww2.

  6. Went here with my mother when I was 15 while we were visiting my grandparents. I had read that it was haunted, but as a skeptic I wasn’t really convinced. My mother and I wandered the museum, originally enjoying our trip. The doll section was the first to start creeping me out, as I felt they were watching me. We shuffled quickly down the second floor to the other wnd. When we got to the room dedicated to medical equip, my mother complained of feeling nauseous and incredibly anxious. We ended our tour early by calling my grandmother and asking if she was ready to come get us. While we were back at the entrance waiting, I flipped through a pamphlet about the museum and mused, “It would be cool if this museum was actually haunted.” Right after I said that, the entrance swung wide open, hitting the wall as if someone or something was rushing in. It had been windy that day, however the wind was coming from a direction that prevented us from opening the door without a struggle. I’m still a skeptic, but that trip maybe me curious.
