Charman of Ojai - Creek Road

You are here Home  > Miscellaneous >  Charman of Ojai - Creek Road

Creek Road is apparently a popular hangout for the spirit set. The most popular spook here may be the Charman. Some say he is the spirit of a firefighter pinned in by a 1948 forest fire, burned and disfigured; he ran into the woods never to be seen again. Others say he lived in a cabin near Creek Road and was badly burned when his cabin caught fire, or that he was a man who died in a fiery car accident on Creek Road. Another ghost reported along this road include the apparition of a woman who died long ago when she fell off her horse and broke her neck. Rumor has it that on the anniversary of her death, the ghostly scene replays all night until dawn. Two more Creek Road ghosts are the apparition of an unknown woman in a blood-soaked wedding dress and a headless motorcycle rider.
