  1. I stayed for the first time on 5/12/15. I was awaken around 3 am by someone calling my name. It was like they were right there beside the bed. I just past it off that I dreamed it. I wanted to show my friend pictures of this beautiful place on line and ran across this post. This experience real or not will not stop me from going back. This is a hidden Gem that needs to be uncovered,

  2. Stayed in room 106; first night woke up with bed shaking!; I could see my roommate but couldn’t scream. Woke up every hour, put headphones on with classical music playing & woke up with music off and headphones not near me; second night – woke up every few hours; but third night had my phone in my hand and woke up with alarm set to my birth day and month! That really freaked me out! I have pics of little green orbs with whisks in our room. We also walked up to the fourth floor and found this large green orb hovering at the ceiling; it wasn’t there when we first went up and then there it was. It didn’t seem malicious but just bizarre…

  3. Stayed at the Brookstone twice. The second time we requested & got the infamous room 401. My wife says she was awoken in the middle of the night by someone “patting” the end of the bed & heard children laughing. She thought it was me or our 8-year-old son until she realized we were both sound asleep. Great hotel, the “ambiance” just makes it all the better.

    • Hi,

I just came back from the Brooks Town inn Feb. 18,2017 & stayed in room 230, around 2:00 am I was awakened by what sounded like children laughing in the hallway so I finally opened the door but no children out there. When I went back to bed I heard them again checked no children out in the hallway. Then My boyfriend woke up telling to stop talking when I told him it was coming from the hall he got up to check & we both saw a shadow of A young girl & boy running toward us. They looked like they were wearing Night shirts.

  4. I was a guest in 2012- I do not remember the room number. The bed was on the entry level…. the fireplace/living room was a few steps down. I woke up in the night -Flat on my back. I could not move, or speak. I NEVER sleep on my back! It felt as though someone was on top of me, as though I couldn’t breath, or move. I closed my eyes, and thought of a great memory, and tried to awaken my body! I finally could sit up, turned on the light, my heart racing. The air felt thick, a heaviness, as though time had slowed down….I kept the lights on until morning. I also remember heavy floor creaking, and movement, sliding? Of furniture? And running -frolicking sounds? I figured the guests above me had a few children, having some fun. But there seemed to be no kids on that floor according to Reception.
