Brady Theater, a public assembly facility since 1914, is rumored to be haunted by the ghost of opera singer Enrico Caruso, who performed there in 1920. Local legend has it that it was here that he caught the cold that led to his 1921 death by pleurisy.

  1. My husband & I went to a concert in late 2016 & 2 times I felt a cold hand on my shoulder. The 3rd time I asked him to stop, he said it wasn’t him & I turned to look at him & saw an African-American man looking at me with an extremely distressed expression. I asked him if he needed help & he nodded then disappeared. I didn’t know the terrible history of the murders of many people by Brady & his associates in the theatre during the race riots until later that night(I moved here 4 yrs ago). It explains the intense feeling of sadness I felt there.
