This historic apartment has a darker history, and has a terrifying haunting associated with the building. In the early 1940’s, a mass brawl occurred on the upper floor, and several people were murdered. Staff in stores below the apartments claim to hear thumps, screams and the sound of a body being dragged across the floorboards. Passer-by’s have reported an even more sinister apparition. On certain nights, the shadowy figure of a man can be seen falling from the upper floor, who vanishes before he reaches the pavement.

  1. Nonsense. If anything like that did occur (?) it was not reported in the Plain Dealer anytime between 1927 and 1960, as any murder would have been. Anyone with any verifiable proof of such an event is asked to contact Steve Sanducci at the Garfield Heights Historical Society, 216-475-3050.

  2. I live here currently, I’ve never experienced anything paranormal lmao, however, the basement is pretty creepy. I’m a ghost fanatic but sadly there’s nothing out of the ordinary here. Probably going to sage for good luck tomorrow anyway!

i saw the falling man! i went back in the morning to obtain the address and i stumbled apon this post, im not sure if its better or worse that others have seen it too.

  4. I grew up in this building in 1999. I’m just now reading about the 1940s Mass brawl. It makes sense to me because I without a doubt believe its haunted. I remember many strange experiences while living there. I was happy when we moved.
